Madrid - October 7 - evening

Arrived in Madrid early this AM, very tired but headed out to see the surrounding area of our hotel.  We checked out the famous Spanish department store El Cortes Ingles,  Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the areas shopping district.  We purchased SIM cards for our iPhones, so now we have data and phone service.  After a a short afternoon nap we went for dinner at an outside cafe in the Plaza Mayor. We had gazpacho, salad and "pulpo" (octopus), with a pitcher of Sangria.  Very enjoyable dinner........and then headed back to the hotel for a well deserved sleep.  Tomorrow we are off to visit the Prado Museum and other interesting sites around Madrid.   Here are a few photos from todays travel.  Click on any of the photos to see them in a larger size.
